What do you have on YOUR refrigerator?

Since my Mother-In-Law is a new widow, she wanted to have and know how to use a gun. Jim and I took care of that and took her shooting last weekend. Quite hilarious, I must say. I hadn't shot my gun (see below) in almost 13 years so I wanted to make sure I still "had it". Woohoo! I do! Killed that target! I was proud of myself and stuck my target on the frig. I know, I have issues.

So how come you and Jim aren't cops anymore? That job pays pretty good, with good benefits, right?

  5. Why are we not cops anymore? Long....sordid....story. But as far as pay goes - NO, they make shit. I make twice now what I would have as a cop. It was a great experience, though, and I got a husband out of it.

Were you afraid he wasn't going to come home some day?

Go ahead and spill the beans, Girl! How come you guys aren't cops anymore? Inquiring minds want to know!

I'm STILL looking for the best place to find a big-strong man who makes good money. Maybe I should buy a gun and hang out at the firing range where all those big strong cops hang out? I am SO envious of you!

(Maybe I would have better luck finding a man if I just tried to lose some more weight. 190 is kind of heavy for 5'5")

  8. LOL, Stacy! First, I just about fell off my chair when you said you were envious of me - if you only knew the complete mess that is my life! :) But anyway - to find a big strong man to take care of you? Don't look at the police dept. Not that there are not good men there - but the $$ is not good and cops are generally angry, cynical, jaded souls.....with guns. I'm sure I'm wrong about some, but that is just what I found.

There are many reasons we quit. First, Jim hated it. It was nothing like he thought it would be and he was frustrated and pissed off most of the time. Me? I had to deal with some medical issues and decided not to go back when I was well because it is hard on a marriage and I wasn't that in love with it. There are other things, but those were the main reasons.

Lastly, finding a man and weight. Sure, looking stealthy and hot helps initially, but you really need to find a man that is your best friend because beauty fades. Just take care of yourself the best you can without obsessing, and emit confidence. There are lots of strong guys out there - just find one that works out, makes you laugh and enjoys his work. You know what they say...you'll find one when you are not looking. Do the things you love, and he will be standing right there eventually. I was actually dating someone else when I met Jim. He ended up being my partner in the police academy and the rest is history....

good luck to you and just try to love life whether or not a man is in it!
